SFI Manufacturing is a cross-disciplinary centre for research based innovations for competitive high value manufacturing in Norway. The research centre has had a successful 2016. – The first full year for SFI Manufacturing was a great one, says centre manager Sverre Gulbrandsen-Dahl.

The vision of SFI Manufacturing is to show how sustainable manufacturing in a high-cost country like Norway is possible, and what it takes to improve global competitiveness. The research centre has had a good start-up period. – I am very pleased to see how our strong consortium of industrial- and academic partners is developing SFI Manufacturing into a vital research centre, says centre manager Sverre Gulbrandsen-Dahl.

In the first part, Sigmund Størset will be present main findings from his Master of Technology Management thesis, titled "Managing open innovation process in large university-industry research programmes", which used FMEs as a case study.
