Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS)

The application of cooperative intelligent transport systems (C-ITS) is one of the most significant tools to enable a more secure, efficient, and accessible transportation system.

C-ITS is the technology that specifies how the ITS components (individual road user, local infrastructure, and surrounding environment) interact. In this interaction, ITS systems communicate and cooperate based on international standards such as CEN, ISO, and ETSI.

At SINTEF, we have gained substantial experience in conducting R&D on C-ITS projects for the industry. This experience ranges from feasibility studies to the development of requirement specifications (including ITS-system interface and prototype testing in both real and virtual traffic environments, to the evaluation of implemented ITS systems.
