NCS C+ Webinar: Integrating Direct Air Capture with Small Modular Nuclear Reactors – Understanding Performance, Cost, and Potential

This webinar will explore the potential role of small modular nuclear reactors (SMR) in the deployment of direct air capture (DAC) technology.

Add to calendar

Direct air capture (DAC) is a key component in the transition to net-zero society. However, its giga-tonne deployment faces daunting challenges in terms of availability of both financial resources and, most of all, large quantities of low-carbon energy. Within this context, small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs) might potentially facilitate the deployment of DAC.

In this webinar, Luca will show how these two technologies can be optimally integrated, and how the CO2 removal cost of an SMR-DAC system compares with DAC powered by other energy supplies. Finally, he will discuss the global scale-up potential of SMR-DAC.
