Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is one of the technological solutions to decarbonize the energy market while providing secure energy supply. In CCS, carbon dioxide is removed from different flue gas streams, transported and stored in secure geological formations. So far, the cost of CCS is dominated by the cost of the CO2 capture process, reason why new capture techniques should be developed. MATESA, Advanced Materials and Electric Swing Adsorption Process for CO2 Capture, is one of the several European initiatives sponsored by the 7th Framework Programme that aim to provide an efficient and economically feasible capture process.
The MATESA Dissemination Day is divided into two sections:
- Presentation of results of different European initiatives related to new CO2 capture processes using porous solid materials (sorbents, adsorbents and membranes)
- Main scientific results from MATESA project.
In this workshop you will have the opportunity to hear about the progress of different emergent CO2 capture processes and to interact with top-level invited scientists in this area.
This workshop is co-sponsored by the 7th Framework Programme and Gassnova.
