Information to our clients and partners during the ongoing Corona virus situation

Strategy and Communications Director

The authorities have adopted wide-ranging measures to prevent the spread of the Corona virus. SINTEF takes its corporate social responsibility seriously and is following up these measures.

Covid-19: Status at SINTEF

On the 11th of March, SINTEF's management established the highest level of emergency response and is closely monitoring the development of COVID-19 and its impact on SINTEF’s services. Thorough risk assessments, safe infection control practices and highly dedicated employees are enabling us to operate as normally as possible in our laboratories and workshops.

Our aim is to be able to operate normally, in spite of the extraordinary situation we find ourselves in. Both our clients and partners can rest assured that they will be notified of any changes to our service provision and deliveries.

It is important for SINTEF to maintain a good level of contact with our clients and partners. We are therefore attempting to conduct all planned meetings to the best of our ability using digital systems.

Please get in touch with your project manager or contact person if you have any queries:

Throughout this crisis the need for adaption and technological development has been accelerated rather than delayed. We hope and believe that the authorities will ensure that we can quicken the pace at which we develop new and sustainable solutions that create value and jobs.

You can rest assured that SINTEF – both now and also once it has ascertained the true scope of the crisis – is in a position to provide social benefits, as well as competitiveness, as it has done for the last 70 years.

How SINTEF is dealing with COVID-19

At SINTEF, the health and safety of our employees and fellow citizens are assigned the highest priority. Because of this – and with a view to restricting the possible spread of infection – SINTEF has introduced the following guidelines in accordance with those issued by the authorities:

  • All employees will work from home.
  • Business travel will cease.
  • Exceptions can be given for activity that is of great commercial value to customers and SINTEF, and only where infection control has been risk assessed and can be ensured. We prioritise the operation of laboratories and workshops where infection control can be ensured. The research director is responsible for this being done, and it must be approved by the institute CEO.
  • We are complying with the complete and updated guidelines issued by the authorities. See:
