Phd Student Vilde Vraalstad, testing our NIR interactance spectroscopy prototype in the field as part of SFI DigiFoods

Our lab is equipped with an array of spectrometers for analyzing chemical composition and physical properties of gases, liquids and solids, both in the lab and the field.

  • Capabilities: Analysis across a range of wavelengths (UV, VIS, NIR, IR,) and using various spectroscopy techniques (e.g. Raman, fluorescence, reflection, interaction, LIBS). Options for different methods of sampling and sample preparation (e.g. Gas cells, open path, optical probing, imaging, ATR). Routines for designing and building custom systems for industrial use.
  • Applications: Material identification, quality control, environmental analysis and compositional analysis. Industrial process monitoring and in-situ real time measurements .
Our gas testing lab (FT-IR spectrometer) is often used to measure the composition of gas samples from our clients
Our precise gas mixing facilities have been used to calibrate, for example, the FT-IR instrument in our ANITA project for the ISS
