HAVOPERA serves, amongst other things, as a digital hub for SINTEF ACE maritime operations and experiments. The content displayed on the screens is streamed directly from sensors, providing a realistic representation of actual conditions. This is intended to inspire and support ideas for development.
The goal of HAVOPERA is to establish and demonstrate a comprehensive digital twin that represents reality digitally, giving researchers unique opportunities to achieve their goals in exciting projects. HAVOPERA and its supporting infrastructure enable the realisation and demonstration of Industry 4.0 in aquaculture. HAVOPERA is widely used and is part of the OceanLab project.
Full-scale laboratory
SINTEF provides direct data from the SINTEF ACE sites (Rataren, Tristeinen,
Singsholmen, Klampvika, and Korsneset) along the Trøndelag coast. We can display oxygen levels, salinity, water currents, weather, sonar data, positioning, forces, and other data as needed.
The data are stored in a dedicated database and can be easily made available by data@SINTEF to collaboration partners upon request.
Vessels
SINTEF has access to vessels equipped with ROVs and cranes that can be used in relevant projects.
Live video
There are possibilities for live video streaming from several of our locations and experiments for close monitoring. High-quality video of fish and structures enables tagging and supports machine learning.
Drone footage
We have a drone pilot who can film during experiments. In the future, drone footage can be streamed live directly to HAVOPERA.
ROV inspection
We are working on making marine operations remote-controlled and autonomous. Our goal is to enable remote operations both above and below water at our fish farming test sites
Live fish room
Experimental rooms are monitored with live video and logging of oxygen and temperature levels, among other parameters. This monitoring makes it easier to follow experiments, ensure good fish welfare, and conduct basic trials with camera-based observation.
Environmental buoys
Environmental buoys are deployed at several locations, transmitting real-time data on wind, currents, and waves, which are continuously visualised on HAVOPERA screens. Building long-term datasets from environmental measurements, cameras, and sonar is an important contribution, especially for enabling machine learning.
Services offered by HAVOPERA:
- Visualisation of experimental data
- Live 3D-models
- Combination of live data with simulations
- Meeting room for researchers and engineers
- Live presentation of research data to partners
- Live 3D-modeling of sites with vessel activity and sensor data at aquaculture facilities
