Competence and research areas
With a focus on casting and solidifation, he seeks to understand the mechanisms governing microstructure evolution through carefully designed experiments, quantitative microstructure characterization (OM/SEM/TEM/EPMA/EBSD) and mathematical models. He leads the development of the aluminum microstructure modeling software PreciMs/Alstruc, kinetic phase diagram calculation k-Cal and high throughput computaiton scheduling software PyMat
