Ingvild Haugnes Aune

Master of Science

My work focuses on identifying new biological resources through bioprospecting and molecular biology. Using various forms of genetic extraction, modern sequencing technologies, and bioinformatic analyses, I contribute to mapping genetic diversity and its potential functions. I also work with cloning, protein expression, and enzyme characterization as an integrated part of the overall biological analysis.

Education

Master’s degree in Biotechnology from NTNU, with a master’s thesis carried out at the Laboratory Centre at St. Olavs Hospital. The work focused on culturing stem cells and organoids to investigate how the autophagy lysosomal pathway impacts neurodevelopment and protection, supervised by Dr. Mirta Mittelstedt Leal de Sousa and Prof. Magnar Bjørås.
Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from NMBU.

Competence and research areas

DNA, RNA and protein extraction, Illumina and Oxford Nanopore sequencing, Fluorescence‑Activated Cell Sorting (FACS), protein expression and assay development, molecular cloning.
