Aim: Reduced CO₂ emissions and consumption of electrical energy in Mn-alloy production

PREMA is a H2020 project with the overall objective to demonstrate a technology for pretreatment of Manganese ores that will enable to increase energy flexibility, energy efficiency, enhance raw material use of fines, and reduce CO₂ emissions in production of Mn-alloys.

Utilization of industrial off-gases and solar thermal energy to reduce energy consumption and CO₂ emissions from manganese production are means to obtain sustainable production of Mn-alloys and steel.
