Shielding Fresh Air Ventilation Intakes

Abstract

Several moisture problems in buildings may be traced back to snow and rain ingress through fresh air ventilation intakes on walls and roofs. Some of these have also lead to health problems. Hence, general solution principles for shielding of the fresh air ventilation intakes towards snow and rain inlet are presented. Selected examples with experiences from building damage cases related to snow and rain inlet through various fresh air ventilation intakes are studied and discussed.
