Abstract
Powder metallurgy is in a prolonged, if not steady, growth phase. The use of metal powders continues to expand and the field is growing fa ster than other metal working technologies. This paper gives a state of the art overview of today's methods and building materials for lay er manufacturing, and discusses the trend of tomorrow's technology. I t is shown that th e use of powder and P/M science will become a majo r part of layer manufacturing technology in the future.
