Modelling an numerical simulation of snow-drift around structures

Abstract

A method for computer simulations of snow-drift around man made struc tures is described. In the method particles are tracked in space and time based on a Langrangian-Eulerian description for particle and win d velocities, respectively. Calculation of the wind phase is governed by the general Navier-Stokes equations and the proposed equation for particle motions covers both suspension and saltation effects.
