Experience with different fibre types and fibre volumes in laboratory testing of structural concrete

Abstract

The paper presents a sensible selection of research results from several projects within fibre reinforced concrete carried out in Norway the last five years. The types of experiments are pullout testing of single fibres, bending tests of beams in real size (b/h/L=150/250/3000), and slabs with concentrated loads (b/h/L=1200/150/3600). Two types of synthetic fibres and one type of steel fibres have been used, and the major part of the structural elements have been cast with self compacting concrete with compressive strength in the range 25-60 N/mm2.
