High-Voltage Circuit Breaker Condition-Dependent Failure Rate with Covariates

Abstract

High-voltage circuit breakers (HVCBs) are essential protection devices which should also be included in power system reliability analysis. When using Monte-Carlo simulation methods the reliability of individual components is incorporated into the analysis through sampling failure events. Therefore, methods for attaining an HVCB failure rate are investigated. Furthermore, the failure rate is dependent on the condition of the HVCB therefore we are interested in creating a condition-dependent failure rate.
