Abstract

The optimization of the operation of a hydropower plant is a complex problem whose formulation and solution differ significantly across generation companies and even across the hydropower plants of a single company. This article aims to provide a general view of the problem and its formulation, as well as of the most common approaches used all over the world for its solution.
