Abstract
This paper deals with the problem of deciding whether or not to invest in a specific hydro power project in a deregulated market regime. Specifically, the paper deals with the problem of evaluating future income from an investment in hydropower, and presents a model developed for this purpose. The problem is in principle the same whether it is a question of building new plants, refurbishing existing ones or buying plants from other owners.
