CO2 capture in natural gas production using adsorption processes

Abstract

Due to environmental constrains, the use of amine solvents for removing CO2 from natural gas streams will be phased out from marine operations. SINTEF has carried out extensive work to evaluate the technical viability of pressure-swing adsorption (PSA) process for CO2 removal, including its design and techno-economic comparison of PSA with a reference process such as solvent scrubbing. Carlos Grande describes the outcomes.
