Model-Generated Workplaces: An Interoperability Approach

Abstract

This paper presents an approach to using model-generated workplaces (MGWP) in tandem with service-oriented architectures in order to meet interoperability needs in a corporate environment. More specifically, the interoperability study and research undertaken is based on a use case scenario related to the process of product portfolio management (PPM) in a large enterprise of the Telecommunication sector, INTRACOM Telecom. Starting from enterprise modelling constructs, workplaces are created that offer navigation and work GUI views to the end user, supporting all his operational tasks as depicted in the enterprise model. Interaction with enterprise information repositories is facilitated via an underlying service-oriented architecture.
