SPECIFICATION AND COMPLIANCE CRITERIA FOR SCC - THE NORWEGIAN PROCEDURE

Abstract

Unclear responsibility between concrete producer and contractor constitutes a possible obstacle for wider use of SCC. As help to divide the responsibility, the Norwegian Concrete Association prepared the publication “Specification and Production Guideline for SCC” in 2007 (1). It includes three parts: 1) Specification, 2) Explanation related to the Specification, and 3) Guide for production and proportioning. The present paper gives an extract of parts 1) and 2).   The basic idea is that responsibility distribution is considered as for ordinary concrete: The contractor is “responsible” for ordering concrete with proper consistency for the given job, and the concrete producer is responsible for producing concrete with that consistency.
