Modelling fatigue of composites

Abstract

The use of composite materials is on the rise in wind industry. This implies development of more sophisticated design tools to support safest and more robust designs needed. Fatigue damage due to repeated cyclic loadings on the composites structure is an important issue to consider and lot of research has been made in this direction during the last 20 years to develop accurate numerical models. The objective of this report is to provide an overview of different models developed in the literature to help the future choice of development within this area.
