eTransport:An optimization model for distributed energy systems with parallel infrastructures

Abstract

This report is the final report of the project ""eTransport – Decision support for local energy planning"", currently the last stage in a development history that goes back more than 10 years. In this project a new algorithm for stochastic dynamic programming with corresponding new user interface functions is implemented. New technology modules for biomass chains, cooling systems, gas networks and district heating are implemented, although not of all these are fully tested. Furthermore, solutions for implementing LCA functionality are roughly outlined. The user interface and database structures have also been considerably improved during the last year. These improvements makes is easier to update and maintain the model, in particular the merging of several different versions that are developed in parallel. However, this work is not documented in this report. 3 operative prototypes of the software have been distributed: • ”Full"" standard version (open version)• Stochastic optimization expansion (available on demand)• Special nodal model for biomass (limited to StatoilHydro for 1 year) The project has an open web site: www.sintef.no/etransport where major papers, presentations and a full user manual can be downloaded. This web site will be maintained after the finalization of this project.
