Abstract
It is a common misconception that Northern Scandinavia does not receive enough sunlight to make PV installations economically feasible. The available amount of solar radiation in Northern Scandinavia is in fact comparable to that in Central Europe. The main limitations in nortern latitudes are the large annual variations, and the fact that the sun's path across the sky spans over nearly 360 degrees during the long summer days, when the major share of solar radiation is received.
