Kidney organoids in an automated pipeline for safety and nephrotoxicity assessment

Abstract

The key challenge for majority of organoid models is to develop organoids mature enough to recapitulate the complex organ, yet reproducible enough for reliable readouts. The use of automated robotic systems in organoid differentiation ensures precise timing and accuracy, reducing reliance on individuals and inter-laboratory variations. Here, we present approaches for miniaturizing inducible pluripotent stem cell derived kidney organoid models and discuss their applications and challenges.
