Abstract
This report presents a techno-economic analysis of two heat pump application cases and a more general consideration of the integration of heat pumps compared to electric boiler.
The heat pump systems of a distillation column and a dairy are assessed and benchmarked against a natural gas boiler and an electric boiler in Norway, Austria, France, Germany and Europe. The key performance indicators of CO2 emission savings, operational expenditures, expenditure savings, levelized cost of heat, payback period and net present value are evaluated.
Based on previously published work, a general techno-economic analysis of the integration of a heat pump versus the integration of an electric boiler for process heat supply was carried out. Various influences of factors become visible here.
