Glacier lake outlines for Tystigbreen 2016-2022

Abstract

Glacier Lake Outlines (GLO) for the two largest active ice-dammed lakes of Tystigbreen Ice-cap, Norway, were mapped throughout the ablation season (June-October) from 2016-2022 with the highest possible frequency, using Sentinel-2 and PlanetScope images. The lakes included in the product are two ice-dammed lakes, which are known for having more or less frequent drainage events. All available Sentinel-2 and PlanetScope images from June-October in 2016-2022, where the lakes were visible and not obstructed by cloud cover or extensive snow and ice, were used to manually map the lake outlines.
