Abstract
In this paper, we propose a method for determining future charging demand at public fast charging stations. The method links charging behavior with existing traffic and energy demand models. This results in a prediction of demand for public fast charging from long-distance trips on a nation-wide level. To validate the model, we compare with observed charging sessions in Norway, and the results show that the model is able to provide a decent approximation of charging patterns with average R 2 -values of 0.72 and 0.76 for the energy demand and traffic volume hourly profiles.
