Abstract
Ever since my time as a PhD student in the 1990s, I have been aware of the action research tradition associated with Orlando Fals Borda. In this essay, I reflect on my own learning journey as an action researcher within Norwegian workplaces, the challenges that differences between Latin American and Scandinavian contexts pose for mutual learning, and how I have gradually become more familiar with Fals Borda’s approaches and methods. Over time, I have come to see how they represent a rich resource—one that we have so far made too little use of in my part of the world.
