Abstract
This report is a part of the ProgLast project which aims at developing methods and tools for long-term forecasting of peak power demand at the regional grid level over a time
horizon of up to 20 years. This report provides a detailed analysis of the factors influencing power demand. It identifies the most relevant power demand drivers and outlines their
definitions, classification, development scenarios, and the approaches used for quantification and regional differentiation. Additionally, the report examines the
relationship between each driver and electricity customer groups using a driver-tocustomer-group mapping matrix. The report further provides a high-level description of
how the driver analysis results, existing consumption, and connection requests are combined within the ProgLast forecasting methodology to produce a peak-load forecast
at regional grid stations. Finally, the main data sources and limitations associated with the analysis are presented.
