One of Norway’s most popular natural attractions introduces crowd forecasting to manage visitor numbers

Abstract

Every year around 400 000 people make the trip up to Preikestolen. When lots of tourists arrive at the same time, the load on roads, parking, trails and the viewpoint itself, increases.A data-driven forecast can now tell when visitor peaks are expected.
