Abstract
Feedforward and feedback present two fundamentally
different approaches to automatic control, and in this paper, we
discuss how this applies to distillation column control. The focus in
this paper is on adjusting the product split using temperature control.
Applications include conventional distillation, complex dividing-wall
(Petlyuk) arrangements and batch distillation.
