Potential Fluids for 2-phase Immersion Cooling for Electronic Chips

Abstract

The project memo presents an initial screening and assessment of electronic properties of potential natural working fluids (NWF) and synthetic heat transfer fluids for two-phase immersion cooling (2PIC). Additionally, fluids for one-phase immersion cooling are also investigated, for reference. The following dielectric parameters are investigated: • Dielectric strength over lifetime [kV/mm] • Volume resistivity [Ohm·cm] • Dielectric constant (Ɛ r or Ɛ’) from 20MHz to 20GHz to 40 GHz • Dielectric Loss Tangent (tan δ) from 20 MHz to 40 GHz
