Call to Action Research: Confronting the Social and Environmental Sustainability Crises

Abstract

Our world is on the verge of collapse. Democratic societies wither under the impacts of inequality and instability. This "Call to Action Research" advocates solidary and democratizing social action to develop planetary social and ecological sustainability. Action research has evidenced that solidary groups of legitimate participants can generate innovative ways of relating, acting, and thinking. The text demonstrates the value of action research to us all, providing an overview of its diverse approaches to confronting ecological collapse, harmful capitalism, societal inequalities, and intransigent governance.
