Only 3.5 per cent of Norway’s land area is suitable for food production, and this land is under pressure from development, overgrowth, and competing commercial interests. At the same time, farmland protection is crucial for national security and sustainable development.
The purpose is to examine work processes and planning collaboration in Norwegian municipalities related to cultivated and cultivable land. The project explores experiences with various tools and data sources, perceived dilemmas and goal conflicts, as well as needs in this context.
The project aims to develop a knowledge base for further research and innovation, with the goal of supporting cross-sectoral future planning and management of cultivated and cultivable land.
