INTERPORT – Integrated energy systems in ports
Results
A selection of results from the INTERPORT project.
Scientific publications
- Energy systems integration and sector coupling in future posts: a qualitative study of Norwegian ports
An assessment of options for energy and sectoral interactions, applied on different port types under different energy transition scenarios. - Policies shaping energy transitions in ports and harbours: A "whole systems" perspective from Norway
An analysis on how the current international and national policy mix interacts with the energy system around ports, and the opportunities and challenges this implies for port companies. - Design optimisation of integrated port energy systems linking electricity, heat and hydrogen
Techno-economic optimisation of two Norwegian ports showing how integration of energy carriers and user sectors can contribute to flexibility, decarbonisation and value creation. - Optimal design of a port integrated energy system: a cost modelling framework
Applying a cost modelling framework to highlight the importance of optimising hydrogen and electricity supply strategies to balance costs and revenue. - Design of sustainable integrated energy systems for green ports - selection and sizing
Compares two models, one using a conventional forecasting approach with detailed annual data, while the other employs 24-hour data sets to capture annual energy dynamics.
Master student projects
- Legitimitet og hydrogen - Veien mot bærekraftig skipsfart: utforsking av sosial aksept for hydrogenhuben på Rørvik og Hitra (in Norwegian)
Investigate the legitimacy of a hydrogen hub by identifying opportunities and challenges associated with socio-political, market and social acceptance. - Modelling and control of smart integrated port energy systems: a data-driven approach
Presents a port energy system model for optimising distribution between energy sources and loads, employing real-time dynamic electricity prices to prioritise cost-effective energy usage. - Optimal sizing for a green multi-energy smart port: investigation and study case considering hydrogen system performance
Explores the concept of smart port for an Italian port, by developing and applying a model for optimal sizing and management of the energy system.
