This project will primarily look at four main challenges associated with this:
- The Energy Act requires licence holders to be able to document the delivery quality that customers can expect, including voltage quality. Many Norwegian grid companies lack the competence and equipment to follow this up. Both grid companies and industry need better tools and competence to handle voltage quality problems and the documentation of voltage quality.
- Customers, and even the individual appliances at customers' premises, often have very different needs regarding delivery quality, and this should be possible to exploit in more optimal grid solutions.
- While more and more customers experience large losses and problems with electrical appliances, where the equipment supplier claims that the voltage conditions at the equipment's input are too poor, there are very limited requirements for the delivered voltage quality.
- Better adaptation of the EMC measures of earthing, shielding and diversion to the various power installations, so that cost-effective solutions safeguard personal safety as well as installation protection and noise protection.
The project shall contribute to a quality-appropriate and cost-effective energy system. Among other things, the project shall contribute to grid companies' deliveries having the right quality at the lowest possible total cost through cost-optimal delivery quality, and optimal solutions for noise protection in the power system.
The project is one of the subprojects under the main project Delivery Quality at EnergiNorge.
