There is a global increase in demand for renewable energy and a rapid shift toward advanced technologies. This drives the need for integrated research on raw material extraction and their transformation into products, in the context of the circular economy.
There is a global increase in demand for renewable energy and a rapid shift toward advanced technologies. This drives the need for integrated research on raw material extraction and their transformation into products, in the context of the circular economy.
This conference seeks to bring together leading scientists from the fields of Earth and materials science, as well as economists and social scientists. The challenges will be discussed in the context of the full value chain: from raw material supply and demand; material distribution, processing, and transformation into products; through to disposal or recycling at the end of life.
By bringing together scientists from typically disparate fields, we aim to identify novel ways to meet the future demand for minerals and materials, within the framework of sustainability.
Scientific sessions:
- The global challenges (invited speakers only)
- Minerals for the future
- Materials for the future
- Minerals and materials in a circular economy
- Sustainable and responsible resourcing of mineral and materials
