The Medical Technology Laboratory within the Department of Health contains equipment for the development and evaluation of various technologies for ultrasound imaging, image-guided therapy, and medical robotics. This includes, among other things:
- Ultrasound systems
- Imaging phantoms
- Navigation systems for image guidance
- Tracking systems
- Equipment for accuracy measurements
- Equipment for ultrasound probe calibration
- Collaborative robotic arms (UR5 and Franka Panda)
The laboratory is co-located with St. Olavs Hospital. Through this collaboration, SINTEF also has access to facilities including examination rooms, operating rooms, and simulation centres for the development and evaluation of medical technologies.
