Kari Hjelen

I work on the development of sustainable bioprocesses, with a primary focus on fermentation. My work includes method development, process optimization, and scale-up of fermentation processes for a range of microorganisms, aiming to produce proteins, lipids, and other biobased products from alternative and circular feedstocks.

In addition, I work with cell biology and the utilization of marine biomass, with the goal of developing sustainable solutions.
