Education
Earned a Master of Science in Biotechnology with a specialization in Biomass Conversion from the Northern (Arctic) Federal University in 2008, followed by a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in 2011. Doctoral research focused on the chemical modification of microfibrillated cellulose and its influence on film barrier properties, contributing to the advancement of sustainable materials and bio-based technologies.
Competence and research areas
Research expertise spans material development (cellulosic materials, nanoparticles, phase change systems), biomass processing, and thermal energy storage. Additional experience includes oil and gas technologies (characterization, rheology, flow assurance) and hydroponics for both terrestrial and extraterrestrial applications.
