Emmy Nøklebye is a PhD Fellow at SINTEF Digital, Department of Technology Management, research group Innovation and Sustainability. Her research sits at the intersection of environmental policy, sustainability transitions, and social justice, with a focus on how system change is shaped, governed, and experienced in practice. Her doctoral project studies the feasibility and legitimacy of carbon capture and storage (CCS) in waste-to-energy systems, as part of the CaptureY project.

Her background is interdisciplinary, with experience in environmental governance, pollution policy, and circular economy, including providing scientific input to the international plastics treaty negotiations and coordinating the Scientists' Coalition for an Effective Plastics Treaty.
