I have been working as a Research Scientist at SINTEF since 2017. Before SINTEF, I was a PhD candidate at the Dept. of Civil and Env. Eng. at NTNU, where I also held a temporary research position after completing my doctoral studies. I was a visiting researcher in the Applied Mathematics (now Computational Sciences and Engineering) group at SINTEF Digital during the last 2 years of my PhD. I have more than 3 years of industry experience as a consulting engineer from my time at Reinertsen AS.

Education

PhD in Computational Geomechanics/Geotechnical Engineering from NTNU in 2016. Thesis title: Isogeometric Analysis of Coupled Problems in Porous Media. The thesis focused on the development of numerical software for the simulation of thermal, thermo-mechanical and thermo-hydro-mechanical (THM) processes in porous media.

MSc in Geotechnics and Geohazards from NTNU in 2008. Thesis title: Modeling Soil-Foundation Interaction by Frequency Independent Elements.

Competence and research areas

Computational Modeling: Applying advanced numerical methods mainly for coupled problems in geomechanics/poromechanics.

Numerical Programming: Developing open-source codes mainly based on Python and C++.

Machine Learning: Exploring the possibilities of applying machine learning in geomechanics

Data Analysis and Visualization: Applying modern data analysis and visualisation tools and methods to engineering data

Teaching and supervision: Giving lectures and supervising students.
