Data examples

Viscosity of emulsified oil as a function of ice coverage for the naphtenic Troll crude. With higher ice coverage (and lower energi) a reduced wateruptake and viscosity are observed. This is impartant calibration data for existing Oil Weathering Models

Pictures from the experiments are presented on this side together with a preliminary figure as an example above. Different ice conditions are represented to the right. The main use of this data is as a calibration set to improve the ability of the SINTEF OWM to predict weathering of oil spills in ice. The comprehensive data set will also be published in a separate report and in scientific journals.

This work is expected to be finished late in 2009.
