DREAM

- modelling of drilling discharges in real-time

SINTEF's DREAM model is a comprehensive model used to simulate the distribution of drilling mud and cuttings.

It is usually applied in the pre-operational planning phase for environmental risk assessment as well as to identify the most optimal release location (with respect to minimizing effects). When used in real-time DREAM will combine real-time current data as input together with available data from the on-going drilling operation (planned release of cuttings, amount, composition and grain size distribution).

The results from DREAM will be made available in GIS compatible format as soon as they are available. They may be inspected by the user and will serve as input for the risk assessment calculations with C/XRA.
