The microBUILDER training courses raise awareness for the microBUILDER services and enables potential customers to create designs for the microBUILDER manufacturing processes. The training courses are developed for three different target groups:
The training material consists of PowerPoint slides, animations, videos, case studies, exercises, and Coventor tutorials specifically designed for the microBUILDER technology. In addition, internet-based multimedia tools for distant learning by web access are available.
Scheduled training courses are announced below. To sign up for one of the announced courses, please complete and submit the registration form. If there is sufficient interest from local participants and if appropriate location can be offered, training courses can also be organized at your company/university. For further information about custom-built courses, please fill in the request form.
Course aim In this course you will learn how to design your own microfluidic microsystem or other microsystems, e.g. flow sensors, plastic microfluidics, silicon pressure sensors, gas sensors, accelerometers, optical systems, etc. in the microBUILDER technologies and receive your own microsystem device in 9 months.
Course content- What are the MicroBUILDER microsystems manufacturing services?- How the SensoNor/MultiMEMS’s and Tronic’s MPW services are organised. MPW as a part of a product development. Process description. Key features. Limitations.- How the ThinXXS plastic microsystem manufacturing services are organised.- How the Add-on services from SINTEF and HSG-IMIT are organised- Design: Design limitations. Layout rules. Templates (chip-level). Design tools.- Design-Example: Designing step-by step- MPW step-by-step: Booking. Design submission. Design check. Mask assembly.Process schedule. Final inspection. Shipment.
Target group and skills requiredEngineers, lecturers, students and researchers from companies, universities and institutes interested in learning about the microBUILDER possibilities. This is an introduction course with no specific skills required, but a basic understanding of semiconductor technology or a background in mechanical engineering is recommended.
