Expoert workshop on Potential of Hydrothermal Liquefaction (HTL) routes for biofuel production was held in Brussels.

The Expert workshop Potential of HTL routes from biofuel production, held on November 19, 2019 in Brussels, was co-organized by five EU H2020 projects (Heat-to-Fuel, NextGenRoadFuels, 4refinery, HyFlexFuel and Waste2Road) and a Norwegian FME research center (Bio4Fuels). The workshop attracted a great amount of interest, bringing together almost 100 participants from industry, SMEs, EC, research organizations, universities, and other organizations. The workshop included presentations from European research projects and other research groups in Canada and USA, as well as presentations from several industrial stakeholders on commercial status. The panel debate at the end of the workshop focused on the barriers to upscaling and on how collaboration between industry, research and academia can stimulate faster implementation in order to achieve the climate goals.
