SP1- Maritime Revenue Management

Main tasks and objectives

  • Existing information and knowledge from operational context will be used for structuring and understanding the trade pattern and pricing of services
  • For fast, efficient, and ‘right’ reactions in regards to prioritization of cargo, closer integration with clients and improved overview of cargo assignments will be facilitated . Also, there will be an increased focus on ‘branding’ for market recognition
  • Increase the possibility to plan ahead by improved collection of market information from both the market and actors in the transport chain
  • Contractual specifications which acknowledges capacity utilisation
  • Enable efficient information exchange in the transport chain, and re-use of data for commercial analysis and decision support systems

R&D Tasks

  • Mapping of access, management and utilisation of information and control parameters in decision processes
  • Tools enabling information to be structured must be defined and further how the information per se is transformed to decision supportive
  • Categorisation and classification of problems and problem solving tools
  • Development of models and tools for planning and pricing of capacity
  • Development of models for establishing ‘casual’ connections on a macro and micro level, i.e. market, trends, fleet and fleet structures, etc.
  • Development of mathematical models, algorithms and heuristics for operational planning, operation patterns, and pricing of capacity
