About the Host and Collaborating Organizations
The conference is hosted by the International Society for Gerontechnology (ISG). Founded in 1997 and registered under Dutch law in Eindhoven, Netherlands, ISG is a non-profit membership organization that promotes design of technology and environments for independent living and social participation of older persons in good health, comfort and safety. It holds biennial international conferences, publishes the quarterly journal Gerontechnology and enjoys a collaborative relationship with the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics. The Norwegian University of Science and Technology NTNU is the primary Norwegian university in engineering and technology, with history back to 1910 and campuses in Trondheim, Gjøvik and Ålesund. NTNU is, however, a full range university with a variety of programmes of professional study, and great academic breadth including the humanities, social sciences, economics, medicine, health sciences, educational science, architecture, entrepreneurship, art disciplines and artistic activities. NTNU is Norway’s largest university with approx. 40000 students and 7000 staff members. More than 300 PhD-degrees are awarded yearly, within the fields of technology, science, arts and humanities, social and health sciences, and medicine. In the evening of May 18, the mayor of Trondheim will give a reception at the beautiful and historic Archbishop's Palace. The castle is one of the largest medieval stone structures in Scandinavia and the oldest walls are likely from the 13th century.

St. Olav's Hospital
St. Olav's Hospital is the University Hospital of Trondheim. St. Olav’s hospital and NTNU is integrated. Patient treatment, research and education are integrated functions. Researchers from SINTEF also work closely with clinicians in the hospital developing new products, procedures etc.
