Trondheim was founded in AD 997, and the city holds a special place in Norwegian history and culture. It was the first capital of Norway, and it is still the city where new kings receive their ceremonial blessing. Situated by the fjord, the city is surrounded by lovely forested hills, with the river "Nidelva" winding through the town. With its long history, Trondheim offers lot of attractions. For detailed information we recommend "The official website TRONDHEIM", which is also available as the app "TRONDHEIM", and Visit Trondheim. In recent years it has both been named as "The Technology Capital" and "The Innovation Capital" of Norway, and it has also been described as "A Culinary Epicentre" known for using top quality local commodities. In 2019, two restaurants in the city each received their own Michelin star.

Trondheim is the third largest city in Norway with about 200.000 inhabitants. It is a very "walkable" city, but it also offers good public transportation. Information about routes, fares and how to buy tickets
