Four R&D groups from three R&D organisations covering all relevant scientific aspects have joined forces and formed a dedicated project team:

• The integrity assessment is addressed by the two groups –
  1) Fracture Mechanics and joining, SINTEF;
  2) Department for Structural Engineering, Faculty of Engineering Science & Technology, NTNU.

• The finite element backbone model is developed by the group –
  3) Materials processing, IFE.
• The constitutive equations and associated materials testing is addressed by the group –
  4) Casting, SINTEF.
